Press & Media Policy

Last updated: 8 June 2026  ·  Opine UK Ltd

1. Purpose

This Press & Media Policy governs how journalists, editors, broadcasters, researchers and other media professionals may use content published on the Opine platform. By using Opine content in your reporting, you agree to the terms of this policy.

2. Attribution

When referencing or quoting content published on Opine, you must attribute it clearly. The standard attribution format is:

[Author name], writing on Opine ([date]): "[quote]" — opine.xyz/[slug]

You must always include a link to the original opine.

3. Permitted use

You may:

  • Quote from published opines with proper attribution.
  • Embed links to opines in online articles.
  • Reference the existence of an opine and summarise its contents.
  • Use the SHA-256 fingerprint as evidence of publication timing.

4. Prohibited use

You must not:

  • Reproduce an opine in full without the author’s explicit permission.
  • Quote content out of context in a way that materially misrepresents the author’s meaning.
  • Screenshot and share content without attribution.
  • Represent unverified users as verified, or misrepresent a user’s verification tier.

5. Press enquiries

For press enquiries about Opine, the platform or its founders, contact press@opine.xyz. For enquiries directed at a specific verified author, use the press contact details displayed on their opine or profile page.

6. Verified badge

The Opine verified badge indicates that the Opine team has manually reviewed and approved a user’s identity. It does not constitute an endorsement of the content published by that user. When reporting on verified users, you should not imply that Opine endorses their views.

7. Press accreditation

Journalists and media professionals with active bylines at recognised publications may apply for Press Verified status on Opine. This provides a verified badge and access to press-specific features. Apply at opine.xyz/verification.
